OT Process

  • Referral received – the referral will be triaged to determine if we are the most appropriate service to support you and your child
  • Initial telephone triage – completed with parents/guardians to discuss child’s current level of ability/need
  • Plan re assessment – to take place in the most appropriate setting for your child
  • Complete assessment – using most appropriate tools for your child’s needs
  • Analyse assessment, discuss with parents and complete comprehensive report to include advice and recommended support
  • Plan treatment – with the OT or with parents dependent on complexity of need
  • On-going treatment sessions – as deemed appropriate

Referral Pathway Guide

Our paediatric service accepts referrals from GPs, health visitors, schools, and parents. We assess need, set goals, and outline the journey from referral to discharge.
